Growing The Sport

From your first cast to your first guide day on the South Platte — we're here for every step. Our instructors are the same guides who take clients on the water. They teach what actually works.

All classes held at our Colorado Springs or Woodland Park locations unless noted. Small group sizes mean personalized instruction every time.

Two classes, taught by the same guides who work the water every day. Reach out and we'll get you scheduled.

Introduction to Fly Fishing
Two sessions. First, a Thursday evening classroom session (6pm–~10pm) covering equipment, rigging, knots, reading water, and basic entomology — small class size, a manual to take home. Then the following Saturday, a half-day trip to public water for hands-on river time. All equipment provided, no gear to buy. Limited to 6 students.

Introduction to Fly Tying
Four hours of hands-on instruction, split over one or two sessions. All equipment provided, and you'll get 10% off fly tying purchases during the class period. Can be customized for students with some experience. Limited to 4 students — scheduled directly with our instructor.
