"PMDs hatching strong 10am–2pm. Fish are looking up. Dry/dropper rigs killing it. Use 5x tippet on dries — these fish are selective. The upper canyon stretch near Deckers has been fishing exceptionally well on the morning caddis. Don't overlook evening rises."

"Technical fishing — bring your long leaders and finest tippet. BWOs sporadic, appearing mid-morning on cloudy stretches. Nymph rigs with small midges most productive overall. The lower canyon holds bigger fish but requires patience. Midday activity picking up as we move into late May."

"Big fish in the feeding lanes — take your time and approach quietly. Streamers productive early morning before 9am. Caddis activity good at dusk. The meadow stretch above Spinney is holding some exceptional fish right now. Sight-fishing opportunities on calm mornings. Bring polarized glasses."

"Runoff affecting clarity — fish are present but visibility is reduced. Nymph deep along the bottom. Heavy stonefly nymph and San Juan Worm patterns most effective when water is off-color. Expect conditions to improve in the next 2 weeks as snowmelt tapers. Good opportunity for float trips."

"Higher flows make wading difficult in some stretches — use caution and wade conservatively. Bank fishing highly effective right now. Big streamers and bushy attractors producing. This is prime streamer season on the upper Colorado. Elk Hair Caddis working well during evening rises near eddies."
